Air Velocity

Air velocity may not have a direct influence over an occupant’s perception of indoor environment quality, as compared to temperature or humidity; but it is nevertheless synergistically related to thermal comfort and the overall performance of the ventilation system. Either very high or very low velocities of air movement will eventually reduce the comfort level experienced and may lead to unacceptable conditions.

Singapore National Environment Agency recommends that the maximum threshold level for air velocity should not exceed 0.25m/s based on “Guidelines for Good Indoor Air Quality in Office Premises”.
